When the Body Speaks Through the Brush

Right now, I am holding a Bodymapping workshop, where women are invited to meet themselves. And I have to say, it is deeply beautiful to be the one holding this space.

We paint bodies. Not as they appear in the mirror, but as they are felt from within. Layer by layer. Color on feeling. A place in the body that needs to be seen is given a color. An area that has carried silence for a long time is given another layer.

And I see what happens. How someone first hesitates, then paints a line, and suddenly a deep sigh is heard. A sigh that does not come only from the chest, but from somewhere deeper. The room becomes quiet. Something settles.

Sometimes we do not speak much. There is no need. The colors speak. And the body responds.

What moves me most is how each woman makes her own journey. I do not direct it. I simply show the way to the brush. And yet, profound things happen. A painting changes, and something in her changes with it. A gaze softens. A breath deepens. An insight glimmers.

A quiet kind of self healing takes place. Not dramatic. Not about fixing. Just honest, body close, and gently transforming.

With deep gratitude/ Marita
